When I was in college I had a small t shirt business called Local Legends Threads. I thought of the name sitting on the beach at Waverly watching some local surfers ride waves in a hurricane.

As most of you know I suffered w addiction for many years and the shirt company fell by the wayside.

This summer on the beach our kids met friends new and old and started forging friendships. We started toying of ideas to have them all get matching shirts or hats to solidify the bond.

I am very open about the anxiety and depression I battle. As I started messing around with logos and designs I started to feel a new energy.

As parents we all have the daily duties, the mundane tasks that make the merry-go-round run. This was a brief respite for me to share something with Kelly and the kids. No aspirations of becoming the next Ralph Lauren. Just a way to share the fact that everyone has their own happy place and we can all learn something from watching our kids play on a beach somewhere.

We will be making shirts hoodies hats and more. Maybe this is my “redo” for local legends, maybe it’s just a silly idea. Either way, the goal is to show the kids that you can create anything you can imagine. Their goal should be to believe in their voice so much that they are confident enough to share It with the world.
